From Bellman to Boardroom: A Journey of Passion and Leadership in Hospitality and Development

Few careers embody the spirit of hard work and dedication as vividly as Brian's. His journey began at the ground level, working as a bellman at a seasonal resort. Over the years, he took on nearly every operational role imaginable—front desk agent, housekeeping, maintenance, security, and beyond. This hands-on experience gave him a deep appreciation for every facet of resort operations and the people who make it all happen.

As he climbed the ranks, Brian's career took him into General Manager roles overseeing resorts ranging from 267 units to over 3,000. His passion for excellence and guest experience led him to achieve AAA 4-Diamond and Forbes 4-Star accreditations for resorts, restaurants, and spas. At the peak of his corporate career, he was responsible for leading the operations of 22 properties with over 12,000 units, overseeing more than 5,000 team members, and managing an annual budget exceeding $500 million.

Beyond operations, Brian expanded his expertise into real estate development, construction, and asset management. He built and led large-scale development teams, overseeing projects totaling nearly $1 billion. His experience spans design, project management, procurement, and project controls, allowing him to drive projects from concept to completion. Brian has not only assembled and trained high-performing teams but has also acted as an individual contributor, ensuring precision in execution. His development expertise extends across condominiums, commercial spaces, hotels, and F&B outlets, bringing a well-rounded approach to the built environment.

Brian's operational services experience enables him to integrate hospitality and corporate best practices into businesses nationwide. His leadership has successfully transformed businesses through restructuring efforts, cultural enhancements, and financial optimization. By leveraging his experience in procurement and logistics—managing over $100 million in annual purchases—he has created strategic supply chain solutions that drive efficiency and profitability. With oversight of more than 80 F&B outlets, Brian has designed and launched successful concepts. Additionally, he has redefined spa and retail operations and instituted financial controls across enterprises.

With nearly three decades of C-level executive experience, Mark was instrumental to the creation and operations of a billion-dollar, multi-faceted hospitality and real estate enterprise. His leadership spans corporate strategy, sales, marketing, real estate development, project acquisitions, construction, resort operations, asset management, procurement, information technology, and human resources. Over his career, Mark has led and developed more than 10,000 team members, directly overseeing operations generating over $450 million in annual revenue. In the past decade alone, he has spearheaded more than $3 billion in acquisitions and development.

Previously, Mark served as Chief Operating Officer of Westgate Resorts from 2001 to 2025. Under his leadership, the company expanded from two regional resorts to 23 major destination properties across top tourism markets, including Orlando, Florida; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Gatlinburg, Tennessee; and Las Vegas, Nevada. Beyond resort development, Mark led the creation and operation of over 100 restaurants, retail establishments, entertainment venues, destination health spas, and both indoor and outdoor water parks. He also holds gaming licenses across seven state jurisdictions.

Recognized as an industry leader in themed destination resorts and hospitality venues, Mark has played a key role in crafting immersive guest experiences. His expertise includes designing experience measurement systems that enhance customer service through data-driven process improvements and staff training, ensuring excellence at every touchpoint.

Before his distinguished career in hospitality and real estate, Mark was a member of the 1st commercial space launch team at Cape Canaveral and led the project management of U.S. Space Launch infrastructure programs. He also served in the United States Air Force, dedicating 10 years to active duty and another decade in the Air Force Reserves where he led a highly decorated unit specializing in business process reengineering, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness within government agencies by integrating commercial best practices.

Mark holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado.

With a proven ability to rapidly master new industries, Mark combines strategic vision with operational discipline, driving shareholder value through innovative problem-solving and financial acumen. He is a trusted leader, mentor, and decision-maker, known for fostering dynamic executive teams. Committed to community service, he also serves on multiple non-profit boards, including the Westgate Resorts Foundation, which has donated over $10 million to charitable causes.
